Vitamin B Functions, Sources and Deficiencies
Vitamin B refers to a group of 8 vitamins. They are vitamin B1 (Thiamine), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (Niacin), vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid), vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine), vitamin B7 (Biotin), vitamin B8 (myo-inositol), vitamin B9 (Folic acid) and vitamin B12 (Cobalamin). Vitamin B plays a significant role in cell metabolism. At initial phase, scientists consider it is an individual vitamin much like we call vitamin A or vitamin C. However later in time, several scientific researches proved that they are cluster of chemically distinctive vitamins that may coexist in certain foods. Nutritional supplements containing all of the eight vitamins are referred to as vitamin B complex. On the other hand, nutritional supplement consisting of single vitamin B component is referred to specific name.

Vitamin B Functions

Vitamin B functions effectively for providing a whole host of health benefits. It maintains and boost up the metabolism rate. It also aids in maintaining healthy skin and offers flexibility in the muscle tone. Vitamin B functions well in managing a healthy immune system and it also offers a hale and hearty nervous system functioning. Vitamin B affects cell division and cell metabolism. It also affects the production of red blood cells. A deficiency in vitamin B may lead to anemia. Vitamin B complex is essential for fighting against different symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and cardiovascular diseases.

All of the B vitamins are water soluble; however, a six year of vitamin B12 storage was seen in the liver, regardless of its water soluble nature.
Vitamin B Sources

The supply of vitamin B is abundant in nature. You can easily add it in your diet list. The natural sources may include potatoes, chili peppers, bananas, liver oil, tuna, lentils, tempeh, turkey and liver. Molasses and nutritional yeast are known sources of vitamin B.

Vitamin B Deficiencies

Inadequate supply of sufficient B-vitamins may lead to vitamin B deficiencies. It may cause different types of health complications. Lack of Thiamin or vitamin B1 may cause Beriberi. The typical symptoms may include weakness, disorder in nervous system, significant weight loss, irregular heart beat, and edema. Vitamin B deficiencies may also result in ariboflavinosis. Poor supply of vitamin B2 in diet may cause this complication. The common symptoms may include hypersensitivity to sunlight, edema, cheilosis, hyperemia and oral mucosa. Pellagra is another health complications occurred as a result of vitamin B deficiencies.

Niacin plays a major role here. Lack of niacin in regular diet may ensure the possibility of this health complication. Common symptoms may include aggression, dermatitis, confusion, insomnia and diarrhea. In severe cases, pellagra may cause mortality also.

Not so common in every day practice, but a deficiency in Pantothenic acid may cause vitamin B deficiencies. It may result in acne and paresthesia. A lack in pyridoxine supply may lead to a whole host of health complications. All of these complications are known health complications arising from vitamin B deficiencies. The common complications are depression, mood disorder, hypertension, anemia, water retention, and increased level of homocysteine. Inadequate supply of Biotin may result in vitamin B deficiencies that largely affect infants. It may lead to developmental disorder and neurological disorder among children. Folic acid deficiency may lead to an increased level of homocysteine, which may lead to birth defects during pregnancy. Deficiency in vitamin B12 may result in megaloblastic anemia, memory loss and cognitive decline.

Several studies are going on in the support of possible health benefits provided by vitamin B supplements. Studies reveal that folic acid may be found beneficial in preventing birth defects and combating against colorectal cancer. Additionally, it is documented that high levels of folate in combination with other vitamin supplements may actually reduce the risk of breast cancer. Typically clinical trials put emphasis on the combination of folate and vitamin B6 that are helpful in minimizing the potential risk factors triggering breast cancer. It is naturally available in green leafy vegetables such as spinach, broccoli and asparagus.

What is the scientific explanation to Vitamin C being able to remove HAIR DYE?
I have read many claims from beauty blog threads that vitamin C removes hair dye! What’s in the vitamin C that can act like a toner? If you know anything about reactions, or whatever is happening here.
Leave responses your theories if you know anything about reactions, or whatever is happening here.

    • ANSWER:
It usually will lighten the color, not remove it completely.

So one has to look at what makes a dye dark. And that is due to conjugations; in other words, a string of double bonds or aromatic compounds that have conjugated groups attached.

Vitamin C is acidic and an antioxidant. It has the ability to change some of the conjugations which will lessen the darkness of the dye.

Has anyone tried Vitamin C and Shampoo to lighten hair dye?
I’ve been using the Honey Lightening method on my hair for several days now to lift some of the black dye out of the ends of my hair. I found it on It’s working, but very slowly. Has anyone tried the method of crushing vitamin c tablets and adding them to shampoo and making a ‘soap cap’ to lift hair dye? I know this is possible but I want to know if it’s damaging to the hair before I try it.

    • ANSWER:
I once had beautiful natural blonde hair. I highlighted it light blonde twice, causing severe damage. It took me two full year to grow them partly out. When i was finally content and almost natural, i used henna and my hair turned red! Stupid of me, i then dyed my hair PERMANENT BLACK. I cried for days. We used color oops and it turned maroon. I then went to the salon and they bleached it out, and died it orange….urrg. Desperate, i found a professional who actually knew what they were doing. They heavily highlighted it so its somewhat blonde, but it will take me another two years to grow it somewhat natural. I’m now left with ugly, chemically fried hair. The lesson? Stay natural, it almost always looks the best! Take it from me! Lemon juice should be used to lighten undyed hair, because using it on dyed hair could make it turn orange or other wierd colors. Use Prell shampoo, believe me it helps ALOT. Also, do hot oil treatments frequently. Hope this helps :)

Why would vitamin C work to remove hair dye?

I heard that crushing up vitamin c tablets and putting it in shampoo and leaving it on your hair for an hour will remove hair dye. If this is true, how/why would it work?

    • ANSWER:
      I heard about that 2. See Step 11. ♀

Walking through the your local grocery store, you will come across boxes of hair dyes. It’s easy to look at the picture on the box and quickly begin to daydream of how that new hair color will look on you. Anyone who has ever tried a hair dye will immediately tell you that unless the color of your hair is similar to the one on the box, the results can be completely different. Many of us have rushed home excitedly with the hair dye in tow, followed the instructions to the letter, and have gasped when we looked in the mirror. Not only does the hair dye not look anything similar to what we were hoping for, but we want to remove it immediately. If this is the situation that you are facing, here are some natural home remedies that can help to remove unwanted dye from your hair.

      Difficulty: Challenging
      Things You’ll Need:
      Baking Soda
      Clarifying Shampoo
      Dandruff Shampoo
      Olive Oil
      Shampoo with high Ph
      Vitamin C powder

      Step 1
Immediately shampoo your hair and use a lot of water. Use a shampoo that has a high Ph level.

      Step 2
You can also mix one part of vinegar with two parts of water to help remove some of the color.

      Step 3
Another method you can try is to to create a paste of lemon juice and cream of tarter. Let this concoction seep into your hair and leave it in for 5 to 15 minutes. Rinse out of your hair completely.

      Step 4
Some people prefer using Dawn or another dish soap that is handy, because this will help to fade the hair color. This may help in cases in which the hair dye is too strong to your liking.

      Step 5
Another method is to mix equal amounts of baking soda and shampoo together. Soak your hair with this mixture. Rub this into your hair and leave it in for 5 to 10 minutes. This will help to fade the color. It is important to use a deep conditioner in your hair to minimize damage done.

      Step 6
You can also use Prell shampoo to remove dye that is darker than you expected. Put a quarter size amount into your dry hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap and blow dry your hair. Wash the shampoo out in 30 to 50 minutes.

      Step 7
Using over-the-counter dandruff shampoo can also help to remove some of the hair dye out of your hair. Wash and rinse with hot water. Continue this process until the hair fades to the color that you desire.

      Step 8
You can also purchase clarifying shampoo to fade some of the color out.

      Step 9
Some people prefer mixing equal parts olive oil with mayonnaise. Leave this mixture in your hair for 1 to 2 hours and then rinse out.

      Step 10
Another common soap that may help is Tide laundry detergent. Shampoo as you normally would with a quarter-size amount of Tide.

      Step 10
Mix a quarter-size amount of shampoo with vitamin C powder and mix until it becomes a paste. Leave in for 15 to 25 minutes and rinse out with warm water. Repeat the process if hair color has not faded enough. Shampoo and condition as you normally would afterwards.

    Vitamin C as hair removal?
I recently dyed my black(natural) hair to a golden brown. I totally hate it. I want to get my natural colour hair (black) back. If I use the mix of powder vitamin C and shampoo will I get it back?

    • ANSWER:
You can do one of two things, to remove most of that dye.

      1. By using Tide detergent with shampoo…

      2. By shampooing you hair mix with a bit of Dawn.…

Here’s an example what hair stripping will do to your hair.
It is worst than hair dyes. “I accidentally dyed my hair this awful black, stripped it, and now it is this crunchy crispy mess!”

Hair strippers are chemical treatments which are intended to strip out artificial color pigment with less risk or damage to the hair. The chemicals used are called reducing agents.
Certain ‘metal’ strippers containing sodium sulphoites are sold for reducing hair dyed with metallic dyes, as these dyes react violently with tint stripper containing hydrogen peroxide-the subsequent reaction may cause so much heat that the hair gets dissolved.
Google hair dyes & cancer also. There are those who tan & smoke all their lives & do not get cancer, but there are those 2nd hand & 3rd hand smoke who do and are currently on oxygen because they can’t breath or have cancer. Same with hair dyes.

Here’s a new article I found re: henna, which is supposed to be better for you than reg. box dye. It’s a good read!

I know hair. I have over 4 decades of hair know-how. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy hair down to my knees. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80′s & 90′s. I’ve known people in their 30′s whose hair stopped growing from ironing their hair in the 70′s.

B-complex, Biotin, A, C…which vitamin helps hair grow fast?
    Hello everyone.
My question is: which vitamin helps hair grow the fastest? I want to buy some vitamin pills but I’m not sure which ones since I’ve heard multiple versions. Some say Biotin helps, some say it does just the opposite, some mention vitamin C, some mention vitamin A etc.
The first reason why I want to buy vitamin pills is the fact that I used to have long hair but I kind of messed it up so I had to cut it to somewhere around chin length and it just doesn’t look good on me so I want it to grow faster.
And the second reason is simple- it’s the fact that I just want beautiful, long, healthy hair.
I dye my hair (now, I know what you’re thinking- it must be damaged and that must be the reason why my hair grows slowly, but that’s wrong. My hair isn’t dry at all- my hair’s health condition is actually great! I use conditioners and I take as much care of my hair as I can) and I don’t want to stop dyeing it because it took me quite some time to achieve this color and I don’t like my natural hair color at all.
So, basically, my question to you readers is “Which vitamin helps to speed up hair growth as much as possible?”
    Thank you all in advance!

so try this…regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks.(if your hair is really healthy then up the trims to about every 12 weeks, a trim is just a snip off the ends) if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the growth part of the e to kick in. the other benefits are instant. dont brush your hair but maybe three or four times a week to message the scalp, dry hair, never wet, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. biotin is cheap and also promotes hair regrowth and growth. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online.(puritans or five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. i now take my fingers and message my scalp about five times a week, along with the brushing thats a good way to do it without damaging your hair. apply two or three capsules of e to dry hair and message into scalp and hair really well, put damp towel in microwave for 1 min to get hot, then quickly wrap head, a dry towel can be placed over that to help hold in the heat, leave on for 15 min, shampoo well, makes an excellent hot oil treatment. good luck, AND some people will argue about regular trims, your hair does grow from the roots, yes, but if your hair is not trimmed at the bottom, the it splits, get dry and brittle not to mention thin looking from no trims at all and frizzy. then your hair starts to break off at the bottom and giving you the appearance that it never grows. so to make hair grow as fast as possible and keep it healthy, then trims are an essential part of hair care. look on a ruler and check out less then half an inch and if your salon does not know what that is then take a ruler with you, i have. i added beta carotene vitamins to my regimen. i found out that along with the biotin it is very very good in promoting hair growth. they were five bucks for a bottle of 100. got them at walmart. the biotin and e can also be purchased at walmart, and adding all this up is pretty cheap to get great hair. the shampoo is now available in the new food lion stores. just found this out.

Would baking soda added to my shampoo, or crushed vitamin c tablets with shampoo lighten my hair?

Which vitamin is beneficial for hair and what is function of vitamin C?

    • ANSWER:
vitamin E is beneficial for hair

In humans, vitamin C is a highly effective antioxidant, acting to lessen oxidative stress, a substrate for ascorbate peroxidase,[4] as well as an enzyme cofactor for the biosynthesis of many important biochemicals. Vitamin C acts as an electron donor for eight different enzymes:[9]

Three participate in collagen hydroxylation.[10][11][12] These reactions add hydroxyl groups to the amino acids proline or lysine in the collagen molecule (via prolyl hydroxylase and lysyl hydroxylase), thereby allowing the collagen molecule to assume its triple helix structure and making vitamin C essential to the development and maintenance of scar tissue, blood vessels, and cartilage.[13]
Two are necessary for synthesis of carnitine.[14][15] Carnitine is essential for the transport of fatty acids into mitochondria for ATP generation.
The remaining three have the following functions:
dopamine beta hydroxylase participates in the biosynthesis of norepinephrine from dopamine.[16][17]
another enzyme adds amide groups to peptide hormones, greatly increasing their stability.[18][19]
      one modulates tyrosine metabolism.[20][21]
Biological tissues that accumulate over 100 times the level in blood plasma of vitamin C are the adrenal glands, pituitary, thymus, corpus luteum, and retina.[22] Those with 10 to 50 times the concentration present in blood plasma include the brain, spleen, lung, testicle, lymph nodes, liver, thyroid, small intestinal mucosa, leukocytes, pancreas, kidney and salivary glands.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that has a number of biological functions. Acting as an antioxidant, one of vitamin C’s important functions is to protect LDL cholesterol from oxidative damage. (Only when LDL is damaged does cholesterol appear to lead to heart disease, and vitamin C may be one of the most important antioxidant protectors of LDL.)1 Vitamin C may also protect against heart disease by reducing the stiffness of arteries and the tendency of platelets to clump together.2

The antioxidant properties of vitamin C are thought to protect smokers, as well as people exposed to secondhand smoke, from the harmful effects of free radicals. A controlled trial demonstrated the ability of 3 grams of vitamin C, taken by non-smokers two hours prior to being exposed to cigarette smoke, to reduce the free radical damage and LDL cholesterol oxidation associated with exposure to cigarette smoke.3 The smoke-induced decline in total antioxidant defense was also diminished. These beneficial effects were not observed in non-smokers under normal conditions (no free radical exposure).

Vitamin C is needed to make collagen, the “glue” that strengthens many parts of the body, such as muscles and blood vessels. Vitamin C also plays important roles in wound healing and as a natural antihistamine. This vitamin also aids in the formation of liver bile and helps to fight viruses and to detoxify alcohol and other substances.

Recently, researchers have shown that vitamin C improves nitric oxide activity.4 Nitric oxide is needed for the dilation of blood vessels, potentially important in lowering blood pressure and preventing spasms of arteries in the heart that might otherwise lead to heart attacks. Vitamin C has reversed dysfunction of cells lining blood vessels.5 The normalization of the functioning of these cells may be linked to prevention of heart disease.

Evidence indicates that vitamin C levels in the eye decrease with age6 and that supplementing with vitamin C prevents this decrease,7 possibly leading to a lower risk of developing cataracts.8 9 Healthy people have been reported in some, but not all, studies10 to be more likely to take vitamin C and vitamin E supplements than are people with cataracts.11

Vitamin C has been reported to reduce activity of the enzyme, aldose reductase, in people.12 Aldose reductase is the enzyme responsible for accumulation of sorbitol in eyes, nerves, and kidneys of people with diabetes. This accumulation is believed to be responsible for deterioration of these parts of the body associated with diabetes. Therefore, interference with the activity of aldose reductase theoretically helps protect people with diabetes.

Vitamin C may help protect the body against accumulation or retention of the toxic mineral, lead. In one preliminary study, people with higher blood levels of vitamin C had much lower risk of having excessive blood levels of lead.13 In a controlled trial, male smokers with moderate to high levels of lead received supplements of 1,000 mg per day of vitamin C, 200 mg per day of vitamin C, or a placebo.14 Only those people taking 1,000 mg per day of vitamin C experienced a drop in the blood lead levels, but the reduction in this group was dramatic.

People with recurrent boils (furunculosis) may have defects in white blood cell function that are correctable with vitamin C supplementation. A preliminary study of people with recurrent boils and defective white blood cell function, found that 1 gram of vitamin C taken daily for four to six weeks, resulted in normalization of white blood cell function.15 Ten of twelve people receiving vitamin C became symptom-free within one month and remained so for periods of one to three years without additional supplementation. The other two people required long-term vitamin C supplementation to prevent recurrences.

A double-blind trial found that 500 mg of vitamin C per day for one year reduced the risk of developing reflex sympathetic dystrophy (a painful nerve condition of the extremities), after a wrist fracture.16

In a small, preliminary trial, vitamin C (500 mg twice daily) combined with rutoside (500 mg twice daily), a derivative of the flavonoid, rutin, produced marked improvement in three women with progressive pigmented purpura (PPP), a mild skin condition.17 Although not a serious medical condition, cosmetic concerns lead people with PPP to seek treatment with a variety of drugs. The vitamin C/rutoside combination represents a promising, non-toxic alternative to these drug treatments, but larger, controlled trials are needed to confirm these preliminary results.

Broccoli, red peppers, currants, Brussels sprouts, parsley, potatoes, citrus fruit, and strawberries are good sources of vitamin C.

Vitamin C + Shampoo Mix Effective in Removing Hair Dye?
Hi. I Dyed my hair Red and it turned burgundy which is a nice color but i need to remove it because our school is about to start and its not allowed in our school. Can Vitamin C + Shampoo ( Dandruff Shampoo) remove it or make it less noticeable? Thanks

    • ANSWER:
well i have had black/dark brown dye in my hair which has bee there for a few months. My naturally light brown roots are growing in so my hair is super light on top and black on the ends and I was getting sick of it. Yesterday, mixed Vitamin C with cheap shampoo (I think the brand was called white rain or something) and I mixed about 5 tablespoons of Vitamin C with 8 tablespoons of shampoo. I put this on my dry hair and left it in with a plastic bag on my head for two hours.

When i took a shower and dryed it, my color lifted about two shades and it was VERY VERY soft and nice feeling. I also heard something about using dandruff shampoo so i will try using vitamin C and dandruff shampoo tomorrow.

I would reccomend trying this it will probably lift the burgundy to make it a more natural color. Plus, it’s very easy on your hair, so there’s no risk involved.
      Good Luck!!!

Who has tried vitamin c and shampoo?
I’ve had this reddish/dark brown hair color for a couple of months now, and I am officially over having it this color! Has anyone ever tried to lighten their hair with vitamin c/shampoo, if so does it work?

    • ANSWER:
No. it doesn’t work but close. Citric acid (lemons for example) will lighten your hair in sunlight but it takes a long time… I mean hours a day for weeks and it only works for people with dark blonde or very light brown hair. If you want it lightened you should add some highlights now and gradually add more each time until it’s faded back to the color you’re highlighting with…. it’s less damaging and less risky than bleaching it out all at once.

Vitamin C with Pert Shampoo… Hair color stripping?
i’ve recently dyed my hair to a light/medium brown.
my natural hair color is a light brown.
and i have been dying my hair for a couple years now, from dark to now this shade being my lightest since but all i desperatly want (without dying or going to a salon) is to strip my hair to it’s natural color.

i read on the internet that vitamin c powder caplets and pert shampoo does the trick in one shot..

my question is will and can crushed vitamin c powder and pert shampoo completely strip my hair color bringing it back or close to it’s natural ?

also, my hair is shoulder length and kind of thick, how many crushed vitamin c caplets would i need for my hair?

    thanks in advance.

    • ANSWER:
Using the Vitamin C most likely wont do much but the Pert will.

Vitamin C to lighten Dyed hair?
Let me first start off by saying I have been dyeing my hair since I was about 16. (just turned 20) I have recently been trying to grow my hair back out to my natural blonde color. The last time I dyed my hair in June, I dyed it black for the 2nd time (over a VERY VERY BRIGHT RED) I have heard from numerous sources that powdered or crushed Vitamin C tablets mixed with shampoo and left in the hair for a while will lighten it. I want to give it a shot to attempt to lighten my hair (which looks terrible right now because of the red and brown peaking through =P) I absolutely REFUSE to bleach it. I was just wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if Vitamin C powder will damage my hair? Thank you!

    • ANSWER:
It’s a very slow process but it does lighten it somewhat. It’s the same as putting lemon juice in your hair and sitting out in the sun, which was a very common practice back in the day.

I put vitamin c powder in my hair and it got on my skin?
I put a mixture of vitamin c powder and conditioner in my hair overnight (it fades hair dye) and on dry hair the day before but after I woke up with the vitamin c powder in my hair and went to wash it off, I noticed behind my ear, near my hairline, and on the back of my neck, I had developed peeling, dry, red, itchy, burning skin. I’ve used an antibiotic cream on all areas and although it helped my ears and my hairline somewhat, it did not help the back of my neck. My neck feels really stiff. Why did this happen to my skin and should I see the doctor?
My scalp didn’t get affected surprisingly.

    • ANSWER:
sounds like you burned your skin. vitamin c is acidic. rinse it gently, dab with clean towel to dry then apply some sort of protectant on it. i would personally use bag balm or olive oil or even carmex. don’t pick or scrub it. keep it out of sunlight or tanning beds. if you ever have to do this again rub vaseline on neck and ears to keep the C off ur skin and do it during the daytime so you will notice it burning. hows ur scalp?

Shampoo plus vitamin c tablets so strip hair dye out? If the tablets are orange, will my hair go orange?
please answer quickly i’m really impatient and i want to do the thingy now but i just realised that the tablets are orange and wasn’t sure if that would effect my hair.
    look it up yourself

    • ANSWER:
I don’t know what you’re currently smoking, but i’m pretty sure mixing vitamin c tablets with shampoo will not do anything to your hair. It won’t strip hair dye OR change your hair color.

Will increasing vitamin c intake help with iron absorption and therefore help slow iron related hair loss?

    • ANSWER:
Couldn’t hurt. Bell peppers are also high in vitamin C.

Um, if you haven’t considered it, it could be your shampoo might not be helping you either. I’ve been using the baking soda/vinegar no ‘poo method instead of using shampoo, and it’s helping a lot with the hair loss that I’ve had. Shampoos are really, really harsh on your hair. And they’re pricey. :P Baking soda and vinegar don’t cost that much.

What I do is put a tablespoon of baking soda to a cup of water in an old shampoo bottle and use that to wash. Then I follow with a vinegar rinse (same ratio as the baking soda) in an old conditioner bottle. I’ve also added a few drops of lavender oil to the vinegar to make my hair smell nice. Your hair also won’t have a vinegar smell once your hair dries.

      I’ll put a link for you. :3

Crushed Vitamin C and clarifying shampoo to strip old hair dye?
I have a dirty blonde natural hair color… I REALLY want to get it back… I have about 2 inches of my roots showing and the rest of my hair is red and runs into a gold color… it looks pretty but… I REALLY want to get it back to my natural color… so I’ve read on crushing Vitamin C tablets and mixing a clarifying shampoo (I would use Paul Mitchells Clarifying Shampoo). This is old faded hair dye… so my biggest concern is that by doing this it might strip it down to some orange color and nothing close to my natural color at all… PLEASE tell me what you know… I want to gradually fade out the hair color so I don’t have orange/red tips with dirty blonde hair Lol. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE! Even if you suggest something other than this… ANYTHING PLEASE.

    • ANSWER:
The chemical process of hair color removal, and then getting the hair color you desire, requires an experienced hair colorist to get it right. There are different solutions depending on what hair color you’re trying to correct, what chemical processes are already on your hair, and how much more abuse your hair can take. A better bet here would be a consultation with your hairdresser. If they are specialized at hair coloring, great, otherwise let them refer you to someone who is.

L’Oreal, Revlon, and Clairol all have consumer hotlines that take thousands of calls a year from customers who didn’t get the hair color they were hoping for.
      Clairol — 800-223-5800
      L’Oreal — 800-631-7358
      Revlon — 800-4Revlon

What vitamin will help u grow hair faster???And will “Flinstone gummies work.???”?
I am trying to get my hair to grow longer but id what vitamins should i buy so i decided to buy “Flinstone gummies with extra vitamin c.” and if these don’t work any suggestions??

    • ANSWER:
Lol Flinstone Gummies will not work. Diet plays a significant role in achieving faster hair growth. Taking more B vitamins and amino acids through diet and supplements is what makes hair grow faster naturally.

It is essential to make healthy habits like drinking sufficient water, having nutritious foods, abstaining from cigarette smoking and alcoholism, removing split ends periodically, and combing your hair before washing them and so on. However, rate of hair growth tends to decrease as you age.

what are some good sources of vitamin c in veggies for guinea pigs?
i asked a question earlier about hair loss and they said that maybe he should have more vitamin C.

    • ANSWER:
Lots of veggies! They can also have fruit, too, just small amounts.

“Small amounts of fresh vegetables (about a cup a day) are an important additional source of vitamin C and other nutrients. Parsley, romaine lettuce (rather than iceberg, which has less nutritional value and may result in loose stools if given in excess), a small piece of carrot, tomato, green or red bell pepper, spinach, and cantaloupe are popular choices. And clean, pesticide-free grass, clover, dandelion greens, corn husks and silk, will be appreciated by your pet.”

Just be warned that any part of the tomato plant, besides the actual tomato, is toxic to guinea pigs.

Hair help please! I look like Vitamin C with blonde highlights!?
Ok my hair is naturally brown and I got highlights about 3 months ago. Later I decided to go completely blonde(my goal was golden blonde)…so I bought a lorel color (ultra sun blonde) and now my hair is BRIGHT orangey strawberry blonde…if I didnt have the blonde highlights I would have an orange head!:( Does anyone know what I can do? or if I can mix a temp to tone it down? My goal is still to get to blonde all over. Please help!

    • ANSWER:
There are a few things to know here.
#1- With boxed dye, if the color says”golden” there is a good chance that it will give a strong orange tone to your hair. Another word to watch for is “ash”. Ash is green based and can leave a really nasty baby poo color in your hair.
#2- Going from brown to blonde is difficult. Orange is just a color stage it has to go through and it can be easy to get stuck at orange without help.
#3- The best option to go all blonde is to bleach. Unless you want to go darker, using another dye isn’t gonna lift the orange color. Or you could try finding a blue based toner to neutralize the orange.

is there a vitamin that makes your hair healthy? Also make ur nails grow faster?

Is it OK to use Vitamin-C based products on facial skin that is being treated by laser (hair removal)?

    • ANSWER:
Retinol is the worst when it comes to reactions from laser. I would ask the person doing the laser treatment, they would know best. It also depends on the strength of the vit c. OVER THE COUNTER HAS LESS IN IT THEN ONE YOU WOULD BUY FROM A HAIR OR SKIN SALON. dermatologists strength IS THE MOST POTENT AND MIGHT GIVE YOU SOME ISSUES.

can i use too much vitamin c?
i saw online that i can mix vitamin c with shampoo to get non permanent black hair dye out. my question is tho, will using too much vitamin c on my hair mess it up?

    • ANSWER:
If Vitamin C can do that, then it won’t be safe for digestions. Chemicals on your hair can’t be removed using non-chemical product.

You can do one of two things, to remove most of that dye. Links have been moved, might have to type them out.

      1. By using Tide detergent with shampoo

      2. By shampooing you hair mix with a bit of Dawn.

Example of one who’s hair is falling and stopped growing:
“my hair had been bleached many times and can’t grow past a certain length
its also falling out . i stopped bleaching it.
i just need to add lenght! but if i can stop it from falling out..that be great too”
