  1. QUESTION:
B6 for hair growth, please help?
I know biotin is a great vitamin for the hair, but I dont have it in the area. I heard that b6 and biotin are almost the same thing? Will b6 help to accelerate hair growth? and what other vitamins help? thanks for any information.

    • ANSWER:
Well hair grow half an inch each month on its own. But what I would suggest it try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo and Conditioner. I use it all the timeand it does aid in growing your hair faster. I'd
say massage it into your scalp so it can get to your roots well this increases the blood flow helping
it grow faster. When shampooing and conditioning you should use cold or luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it. Even hot water hurts your hair. You can find it at walmart in the pet section.
You should drink plenty of water to help condition your hair.

Eating Coconut oil also has benifits its not only good for adding nutrients to the hair, but its also
good for weight loss and has many more benifits.
And don't forget about exercising, as much as I hate it, it actually helps by increasing the blood flow
and stimulating the hair to grow faster.

      Hope I helped!

It's perfectly fine to take such a high dose, as it helps hair grow a bit faster, and it strengthens it. And the higher the dose, the quicker the results. ;)

Sorry but no, you do not cut the pills up into 3 pieces and swallow it, you need to swallow 1 pill whole, or whatever the recommended dosage is.

Okay, so I know that Vitamin B and Prenatal vitamins are supposed to help your hair grow faster, but I had a little problem when I went to look for them. I saw different vitamin B's so I didn't know which one to get. There was vitamin B6 and B12 and some were for metabolism and others for heart health. I'm also not sure where I can find prenatal vitamins.

Is there a specific Vitamin B that you're supposed to use and where can you find prenatal vitamins?

wut other vitamins r good for (fast) hair growth?

    • ANSWER:
I would ask how they are measuring this. Was this ever done in a controlled clinical trial? My guess is that there is some anecdotal evidence that Centrum might somehow be good for your hair but not necessarily speeding growth.

Because this is sold as a supplement they can claim almost anything they want to. If it was sold as a drug such as Rogane they would have to prove it speeds hair growth via clinical trials.

  8. QUESTION:
    Multivitamins helps hair growth?
    I take Flinstones that contains Biotin,Folic Acid,Vitamin b6,Zinc,Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Vitamin B12
Will this help my hair grow?

    • ANSWER:
      Yes.
But don't rely on vitamins for everything!
Make sure you're drinking enough water each day, keeping your hair moisturized, using the right shampoos and conditioners, deep conditioning your hair atleast once a week, getting a trim every 6 weeks, eating LOTS of protein...

And your hair would be growing in no time.

  9. QUESTION:
Would you eat or wash your hair with derivatives from a placenta?
I wouldn't, but there's some that do, especially some mothers who eat them to help fight against post natal depression since the organ is rich in minerals and vitamins, particularly B6. It also used to promote healthy hair growth.

I happen to see them often on my job during cesarean sections. Looks like a oval shaped blob of spaghetti sauce. Placenta anyone?

    • ANSWER:
      I've heard of it.

I wash my hair in baking soda and rinse it with cider vinegar, once a week. You take one cup water, 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda, pour on your head and wash the scalp (not the ends), then rinse, then take 1/2 cup cider vinegar and 1/2 cup water, pour in your head, swish it around, then add conditioner, rinse with cold water. ... I KNOW it sounds crazy, but it cleans out all the hairspray and all the gel and all the conditioner and other crap we put in our hair all the time, so it gives your hair a fresh start so it's in its most natural state. I do this before special occasions, no joke

I do use cider vinegar between shampooing with sulfate-free shampoo and a light conditioner. cider vinegar closes the hair cuticle and makes your hair shiny, and it helps frizz in the humidity. It doesn't reek unless you use too much of it.

Placenta? Ick, too gross for me. Although there are plenty of people who probably think the baking soda and vinegar is gross too, even though it's an age-old trick.

  10. QUESTION:
Is Garnier Fructis a good shampoo and conditioner to use?
i just bought it and it has vitamin B3 + B6 will your hair grow a bit faster cuz i heard vitamin B really increases hair growth

    • ANSWER:
Hey sarah ! Look when advertisements say that our shampoo/conditioner has vit B etc etc ! You must know that it is all fake ! I aint saying that this happens everytime, but see a shampoo is something whicH only cleanses ur scalp and hair ! It cannot make ur hair grow longer and stuff ! Everyone does not realise this ! Its all marketing techniques !

Well conditioner can help repair your hair or give it protein and stuff,so your hair becomes stronger. That's all ! It can't make your hair grow longer.

If you want long hair eat fruits and veggie's which'll actually help you !

And if you want a good shampoo use panteen (green one) that's a real good sHampoo :)

  11. QUESTION:
Will vitamins B6 or B12 help my grow faster?
or which vitamins can i purchase from a drugstore that will help improve my hair growth?
So is Biotin in the B vitamins?

    • ANSWER:
Yes, they will help so I would take those- but take a supplement of Biotin too! (it's usually in those b-vitamins, but not in very big amounts) Honestly, with vitamins like bitoin, that aren't necessary for daily life you can take as little or as much as possible. I've seen an increase in hair growth and MASSIVE increase in nail growth from taking it (if this is a bonus for you).

  12. QUESTION:
Will these help my hair grow faster?
Hi I've been taking a multi vitamin and b6/b12/folic acid vitamins and I've been drinking nothing but water lately. I know hair growth will take it's time, but will this speed up or promote hair growth? Any information will help. Thanks

  13. QUESTION:
How can I get all of theese daliy!??!?
Vitamin B supplements. Vitamin B5 contains pantothenic acid and B3 (niacin that is vital for hair growth) B6

    • ANSWER:
      for your info and knowledge:
our bodies use water soluble vitamin B3 in the process of releasing energy from carbohydrates. it is needed to form fat from carbohydrates and to perform alcohol.
To find this vitamin B3, the best sources are peanuts, brewer's yeast, fish and meat. some can be found in whole grain.

Vitamin B5 is a member of the water soluble family of B complex vitamins. It is necessary for a variety of life sustaining reactions such as generating energy from food and synthesizing essential fats. Vitamin B5 is also important for our adrenal glands and our reactions to stress.

Sources include organ meats, eggs, fish and shellfish, poultry, soybeans, lentils, split peas, milk, yogurt, avocado, and mushrooms.

Vitamin B6 is prevalent in both animal and vegetable food sources. Nuts, Liver, chicken, fish, green beans, field salad, wheat germ, nutritional yeast, sea vegetables and bananas are particularly good food sources.

i need lots of vitamin B in daily liffe due to my work and stress level. there is no way i eat all these food to get sufficient nutrient that i need everyday. so ill take vitamin b complex which i bought from pharmacy. : )

    • ANSWER:
      No.
People spend billion per year on vitamins and supplements.  According to Everyday Health, here's an article that will tell you why . . . those PRODUCTS by any other name do NOT WORK.  It is false advertisements.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t have to approve supplements — no agency in the United States does. So it’s up to consumers to bring health concerns to light. “It’s important to understand the difference between over-the-counter medications and dietary supplements,” say Pieter Cohen, MD, an internist at Cambridge Health Alliance and instructor at Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Mass. The FDA gets involved only after the fact, if the supplement later appears to be causing harm. By that time, the supplement may already have harmed many consumers who used it. “The burden of proof is on the FDA to determine [a supplement] is dangerous and remove it from the market,” Cohen says. Consumer complaints are the primary trigger for investigations. One recent investigation of the dietary weight-loss supplement ephedra resulted in it being banned for sale in the United States.
China, which has repeatedly been caught exporting contaminated products, is a major supplier of raw supplement ingredients. The FDA has yet to inspect a single factory there.

We have identified a dozen supplement ingredients that we think consumers should avoid because of health risks, including cardiovascular, liver, and kidney problems. We found products with those ingredients readily available in store.

Because of inadequate quality control and inspection, supplements contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, or prescription drugs have been sold to unsuspecting consumers. And FDA rules covering manufacturing quality don’t apply to the companies that supply herbs, vitamins, and other raw ingredients.
Beginning in February 2008, he experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, hair loss, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off.

You get the strength & all your vitamins & minerals & proteins FREE from the good foods you eat from Mother Nature, not made by man, and no shampoo can help grow hair, not even those made for horses. Horses don't abuse their hair, using heating tools, and they eat better than people, but it won't add more hair & make their hair longer faster.Shampoo intended for animals may contain insecticides or other medications for treatment of skin conditions or parasite infestations such as fleas or mange. These must never be used on humans.
Prenatal vitamins don't make your hair grow. Pregnant women have to start taking care of their bodies when they're pregnant, meaning stop smoking, drinking, dyeing or perming their hair SO OF COURSE their hair start growing again. But it has nothing to do with their hair, it has something to do to help the development of their unborn child.

  15. QUESTION:
Faster hair Growth, Vitmans.. the works?
    im 18 years old
and i wanna grow my hair out i cut it show and deff regret it. i asked my mom about ideas and she handed me this bottle of pills. Its not a brand name but i guess there basically vitamin pills. Well hmm now that i look at the bottle its called "basic's Nutritional support for your skin, Hair and Nails.
my mom said it should help my hair grow im iffy about alot of things but i looked at the back and its like any other vitamin thing iv read its got a nice giant list of vitamins and such like A,C,D,E B6, B12, iron, zinc and alot more im not gonna list.

so any tips? or just go for it?

    • ANSWER:
Normal hair growth in healthy individuals is one and one-fourth to one and one-half inches per month and no amount of vitamins is going to change this. They may add to your overall general health and the health of your hair but they will not make your hair grow faster, just maybe grow healthier. The supplement I use for hair, skin and nails is Nioxin Recharging Complex. Like I said, healthier, not faster. There are no magic pills to make hair grow faster.

    Herbal remedies for PCOS?
i have so much information about suppliments, vitamins ect and i was wondering if anyone has tried anything that worked for them. i've heard of Hyponidd, Vitamin B6 and D, Cinnamon, Vitex, Licorish, Optivite. any info would be appreciated!
PS-i am not looking to conceive right now but my main issue is getting this under control as far as weight and irregular periods and excess hair growth.

    • ANSWER:
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2000, I was still in high school and 15 years old. I have never tried any herbs, but I have tried a ton of birth controls and hormones to attempt to have a regular period. None of them worked for me.

For 5 years I was troubled with this. I was told I had a 2% chance of conceiving and would most likely have to take fertility treatments. At the time and age that I was, I didn't want a child and was completely excepting of that.

I decided to start working out in Nov 05 lost 40+ pounds by April 06. Within that time frame of working out 3 times weekly, I got my cycle regularly starting New Years day!! Every 28 days it was right on schedule. But the weight loss and period was short lived. I had met the "perfect guy" or so I thought in April 06 and I became pregnant with him by Aug 06. My son is now 1 week shy of a year old and I am finally back to working out. Our lives are great, but I am hanging in there as a single mom with PCOS.

Miracles do happen, but working out is what induced and healthier life for me.

I've looked into it and it helps your bones and muscles development and reconstruction. It is suggested on a lot of growth during puberty sites that I take this.
The next to are to help boost my Testosterone levels. This is because i believe i have fairly low testosterone levels. Im hardly growing a beard( a few chin hairs and bum fluff), i have a little moustache that i shave about once a week and even though i dont really have much fat, it partly goes to my chest and my stomach is reasonably skinny (it's not that weird girl disease where you get massive chick breasts its not that bad it could be because of raised estrogen levels).Im not really that hairy all over and im still a little chubby (hardly noticeable). Plus having more testosterone has practically no negative affects, its all just seems positive so even if i dont grow a beard from it who cares at least its better for me.
The Berocca is good all over and have V.C which is also good for testosterone.

I eat healthy, exercise regularly and sleep well. I just want to know if im overdosing on anything. Also can i still may be reach 6 ft? I had this bone growth plate test done which said i'd be a tiny bit under 5'11.

First of all - how do you know you are supposed to grow to 5'10"-5'11"??? I call BS

Secondly - yes, you are taking waaaay too many supps at your age. The ONLY thing you should be taking is a good multi-vitamin......

Taking some new hair growth vitamins and I have a few questions?
I'm 17, and I'm going to be taking these vitamins called MAXI-HAIR by Country Life. I wanted to know if there are any problems taking certain vitamins or minerals with levels as high as 2,000 % +, as shown in the supplement facts below.
