Growing Hair Out Hairstyles

Different hair styles

Proper styling of hairs play a very vital role in giving you that desired look which is perfect as per your face and other facial features. Indeed a small change in one’s hairstyle can change the complete look of that person. Comfortable and easy to maintain hair styles are a dream of everyone – adults and children alike.

For people with curly hairs, there are couple of hair styling tips – Don’t shampoo every day, comb conditioner through hair in the shower, never use a brush on dry hair, only untangle when the hair is wet, and apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Use styling products suited for your hair type.

And if you have the oval shaped head then makes sweeping bangs across the front of your face. It makes your face look a little shorter and draws attention to your jaw and cheekbones. Straight, sleek styles work very well on oval faces. If you want to wear your hair up, try a lowish ponytail or a big bun/chignon thing toward the nape of your neck.

For longish hairs, try these hair style – half curl thing – the messy waves look the movie stars love… blow your hair out but don’t make it too straight, and plug in a 1 inch barrel curling iron (the big one). Grab about an inch wide section of hair and close the curling iron about two inches from the ends of your hair, not at the very bottom. Curl the iron up until about 2 inches from your scalp, and hold it up and down. Pull it out and spray it with a light hairspray, like Bumble & Bumble classic hairspray. Do this all over your head and don’t brush it out.

  2. QUESTION:
    Hairstyles/Growing Out Hair ?
Hello, so I know I asked this question before but:
I have type 2b curly hair (aka wavy)
right now i have sidebangs, and some angles, in the front.
i’m really stumped, i have no idea what to do with my hair. i want to grow my hair out fast, like all to one length i think? right now when its wavy its to the middle of my boob and when flat ironed its like midback, past my boob.
    What hairstyle should i do?
Uhm so pleaseee answer this! Oh my hair is pretty thick, and its healthy i would guess, its soft and shiny and i don’t use tooo many products and i use panteen shampoo/conditioner, and it works really well for me (frizzy to smooth). ok thankyou!
Also my hairstylist sucks, and I live in New Jersey, so please don’t say “ask your hairstylist.”
I have highlights right now and i dont want to die my hair

    • ANSWER:
Well hair grow half an inch each month on its own. But what I would suggest it try using Mane N’ Tail Horse Shampoo and Conditioner. I use it all the timeand it does aid in growing your hair faster. I’d
say massage it into your scalp so it can get to your roots well this increases the blood flow helping
it grow faster. When shampooing and conditioning you should use cold or luke warm water on your hair so it won’t damage it. Even hot water hurts your hair. You can find it at walmart in the pet section.
You should drink plenty of water to help condition your hair.

Eating Coconut oil also has benifits its not only good for adding nutrients to the hair, but its also
good for weight loss and has many more benifits.
And don’t forget about exercising, as much as I hate it, it actually helps by increasing the blood flow
and stimulating the hair to grow faster.

      Hope I helped!

Long hair is for a good number of reasons.. Cut it and donate for cancer victims. Grow it long and tail it back so you have a permanent back scratcher.Wrap it around your neck and hang yourself if you are suicidal. Or learn how to braid and make yourself a rope so you can climb into tall buildings. Whatever you do choose for a style will be totally up to you. Kind of like the you made your bed ,now lie in it syndrome. you might want to think of the weight it will bear on you as well,so you will need to strengthen yourself in order to survive the consequences of having it.. And as a final note, I would ask a number of girls how they would like you to wear it and their opinion on it would be the most valuable to consider…

    • ANSWER:
First of all, stop using heat tools!

The best and popular method for today’s modern styles is to use rollers, especially for curly or frizzy hair. The curl lasts a long time and it is better for your hair. You can make it straight, achieve volume, curl, or both. Heat tools are very bad for your hair, even if using heat protestant beforehand, and the curl hardly lasts as long. There are different types of rollers, depending on what you want to achieve and your hair type. The popular roller types are Velcro, plastic, and brush. You can also use sponge rollers for sleeping. You might want to start with medium sized brush rollers. They are relatively easy to put in and hold in place with a pick. For volume, use large rollers on the top of your head. To dry your hair quickly, use a bonnet type of hair dryer, or just let them air dry. Many gals roll their hair at bedtime and take them out in the morning, which makes styling really fast.

For your type of hair, use jumbo plastic rollers and roll your hiar with gel when it is wet.

You can get rollers at store like walmart, but they sell out quickly because they are so popular now. You can also buy them online.

  16. QUESTION:
What are good hairstyles for guys growing out hair (from a buzz cut) that doesn’t require cutting it again?
So, I got a buzz cut about two months ago (because my room mate screwed up m hair) and I’ve already had to sit through the whole awkward puffball stages (thank God for hats!). Now my hair is about 2 1/2 inches (bordering 3 inches) and is starting to come down over my forehead. So I’m guessing it’s long enough to be styled.

My goal is to grow my hair to 4 1/2 inches. But I’m having some BAD hair days in between and I just want it to get longer. Can anyone give me any style options that require little to no cutting of my hair (I can’t bear to shed an inch more) to stop me from looking like an idiot while growing it out?

    • ANSWER:
There was no need to go through an “awkward puffball stage” while growing out a butch. If you had continued with short haircuts at frequent intervals, getting a slightly longer style each haircut and grooming the top with a control wax, your hair could have looked well groomed as it was growing out: short crew cut; medium crew cut; short ivy league; ivy league; long ivy league; short regular taper cut; regular taper cut. This is how guys used to grow out short buzzed styles back when every other college guy and college prep high school guys wore a crew, ivy or flat. While a butch suits relatively few guys, a good barber can design a short pomp(pompadour) style-crew cut, ivy league(long crew cut), flat top crew cut- to fully suit most young guy’s head shape, face and neck shape, frontal hairline and facial features. By the time the hair is in a regular taper cut, the top hair would be about three inches and the back and sides could begin to grow over the collar and ears. Since your hair has grown 2.5- 3 inches in two months, it is growing much faster than the average rate of 1/2″ per month. Determine the style that you want and the lengths of hair in various parts of the head for that style. Then, you can go for a style that will not reduce the length of the hair in any area of the head to a point where it will not grow back to the required length for that area in the time it will take for the hair to reach the length required in the area of the head needing the most growth to achieve the required length. I cannot suggest an interim style since I do not know the desired final style. Maybe take a look at the medium and long galleries at the haircutsformen site for ideas. If you don’t want to cut the hair and just keep it under control, try krew comb (in the jar) or some control wax, but use it in extreme moderation. Krew comb is more of a hydrogenated wax and washes out readily. Actual waxes can build up and not wash out with normal shampooing. In that case: apply shampoo to dry hair and lather up; rinse hair; shampoo again as one normally does. In case you go for a butch in the future, knowledge of the basic short styles is helpful when trying to achieve a complementary style as it grows out……

Some barbers describe an ivy league as a crew cut just long enough to be parted and combed to the side, if so desired. An ivy league can also be worn with the hair brushed up off the forehead to form a short pomp front, or with the short bangs brushed down on the forehead like a forward brush cut.

      http://www.yalealumnimagazine.com/issues/02_04/old_yale.html

Grooming any of the short pomp(pompadour) styles- crew cut, ivy league, flat top crew cut- is basically the same and takes about a minute or two.
      1) Towel dry hair.
      2) Barely dip fingertips in jar of wax.
      3)Transfer wax to palms.
      4) Smooth palms over hair.
5)Brush hair off forehead to form short pomp front.
Whichever style you decide on, be sure to take a photo to help describe the desired haircut to the barber. If you need more photos of any of the styles discussed above let me know.
      Good Luck!

  20. QUESTION:
How can i thin out my hair while i am growing it out?
I am growing my hair out for an emo/punk hairstyle, but i have had long hair before and i have very thick hair. I need to make it thinner permanently, which i know is probably impossible. But i need to make it appear a lot thinner while i am growing it out. I used to have very short, spikey hair and so i have a while to go. I want it to reach my nose or lower when right now it is only at my eyebrow and already it is very thick.

    • ANSWER:
it’s not impossible. you can buy a pair of thinning shears for under . they have a blade that looks ridged and they cut every other hair without changing the length. they are easy to use, you can’t mess it up really.

some hair places will have this as part of your haircut, depending on where you live, and others will look at you like you’re crazy (if you live somewhere where everyone has light, thin, sparse hair, ahem, not saying where but take a guess) and tell you it’s impossible

  22. QUESTION:
Growing long hair from a short hairstyle?
I’ve always had short hair, and I got a haircut about two weeks ago. I’m going to grow hair now, however, because I listen to metal and I think long hair is awesome.

I was just wondering; my hair is now (because of the haircut) a bit short in the back and sides, yet the top is not as short. (So it’s just a typical haircut, really) If I start growing long hair now, will it even out?

    • ANSWER:
just wait till it grows a bit then get it cut even or another style that is a bit longer so it’l look good while its growing

  23. QUESTION:
I’m growing my hair out, what are some good styles?
I have very short hair (about an inch past the bottom of my ear) and it is baby fine. I am trying to grow it out and have looked up ways to make it grow faster and a bit thicker. I have read that you don’t want to use heat to dry/style your hair and that makes sense. However, how can I style my hair? I’m looking for good hairstyles for hair that is thin and hangs lank if not styled. Any suggestions? Please note that my hair doesn’t take a curl very well. I tried using curlers that have a kind of velcro feel to them, but it just made my hair frizzy.
Also, what are some suggestions for making my hair grow faster? I’m looking for vitamins, things to apply to my hair, etc.
    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
I don’t know of any products to make your hair grow faster (my hair grows fast enough already) but if you give yourself regular scalp massages (like how they do it at salons) it improves the blood flow to your scalp and makes healthier hair.

As for styling, try putting mousse in it and blow-drying it upside down to create some volume, and use a round brush to flip out the ends. Create a side part, and secure it back using a cute hair clip or jeweled bobby pin.

  24. QUESTION:
Hairstyles for when my hair grows out!?
Okay, this is a wierd combination…. I am like a preppy skater, and I like the whole emo hairstyles. I have strawberry blonde hair, and when it grows out, I want to know what hairstyles are cute, and what colors look best with strawberry blonde. Pics would help!

    • ANSWER:
Definitely opt for side bangs and a layered look.
Strawberry blonde has undertones of reddish, and if you want to color your hair, I suggest going for a auburny brown. Kinda like chestnut color.

Hairstyles for permanently straightened hair that is growing out?
I am a Caucasian girl. I have very curly hair, which grows out in about a medium spiral. I had my hair last relaxed a year ago. My natural hair has grown out about 6 inches, but not enough for me to cut the straight hair off. My hair is still very thick and frizzy. It is big. I’m trying to find easy styles that don’t take long and won’t damage my hair. Ones that will blend the new growth and the old straightened hair together. My hair is about to the bottom of my bra band.

  28. QUESTION:
What are some unique, sexy hairstyles I can wear while my hair is growing out?
I’m 15 and gay male. I used to have like really super short hair but I have decided to try out long hair for something new. I want my hair to grow all the way down my back like Calpernia Addams. I was told it would take two years for that but I have noticed a little bit of growth. I got it shaped up so it would grow “neater” and it looks okay but shaggy at times. My hair is still short and it is barely getting over my ears but in the back, it is getting thick but not enough for a ponytail, just a rat tail. Its still short but it is getting longer and I bought me a headband today to hold my hair back but what are some neat hairstyles I can wear while its getting long? What kind of hairstyle can I wear to make my hair appear to be longer? How can I make it grow really fast like I want it?

    • ANSWER:
You could try buying some prenatal vitamins to help it grow faster. Also if you go to a vitamin store they should be able to help you find some other supplements to help your hair grow quick and healthy.

As far as hairstyles to make it look long.. Headbands are always good. You can also pull your hair halfway back and tease the top to make it appear like you have more longer hair.

  29. QUESTION:
Im growing my hair out, how can i keep it healthy?
And also any basic hairstyles i can put my hair in while growing it, a ponytail doesnt look right on me.

    • ANSWER:
If you’re growing it out you need to keep it healthy.
that means no hair products, gel, hairspray and things such as that.
it may make your hair look healthy but some products damage hair more than a flat iron.

you also shouldn’t straighten your hair, curl it or such as that, it will scar your hair and make it very unhealthy.

brush it every night for at least 15-30 minutes and it will grow 12 inches a year. -proven fact.
just keep your hair down and natural, you can also do a bang poof. pictures below.

growing my hair out into “shaggy” hairstyle, should i clean it up in the meanwhile?
i am trying to grow my hair out sort of like ashton kutcher type shagginess. in the meanwhile though my hair doesnt look too good. would it be a waste of money and time to get it cleaned up while in the process of growing?

the last time i got my hair cut i buzzed all of it off evenly. it’s been at least 4 months since then.

should i wait some more time before going to get it cut again?

Well seeing as it was buzzed even, i would go and get it pre-styled so that when it grows out it will already be in the style you want it. It is only and you will have to get it cut some time

  38. QUESTION:
Nice Hairstyles without heat and hair growing tips?
So im trying to grow my hair long, and im trying to not use heat. Ive seen hairstyles where you sleep with your hair a certain way, and it comes out pretty, but for some reason, i just CANNOT sleep with those things in my hair, haha. So do you have any suggestions on how i could not use heat and also make it look somewhat decent? my hair is like all flippy and frizzy, so i usually straighten it. Also, i need some tips on growin my hair..

    Thankya!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Scrunching it doesnt do anything

    • ANSWER:
you can just a frizz-control cream and put that in, then spray your hair with the saltwater spray for beachy waves
scrunch it (try herbal essences scrunching gel. only think that works for me and i have a similar hair type it seems like)
braid it (if you put frizz-control cream in while your hair is wet, french braid it, let it dry, then take it out, your hair will be wavy and not frizzy)

to grow it, get it trimmed every 4-6 weeks: this will clean up the dead ends that prevent your hair from growing faster, and your hair will grow faster this way.

  39. QUESTION:
how to grow hair tips ? and hairstyles?
ok, im filipino (asian) i had straight long silky hair when i was little, but when i was in 6th grade i started dying my hair which did alot of damage. from then on i was addicted to dying my hair. seventh grade comes and i get a straightener for christmas. this made everything worst! i stopped using heat appliances and i have stopped dying my hair. im in 9 grade now and i am trying to grow my hair out. my hair is shoulder length with layers. everytime i get out of the shower it a little frizzy, it never used to be like this. when my hair dries it kind of poofy and frizzy. its hard to do hairstyles with out using heat. i need cute hairstyles without using heat, and how to grow my hair out.

  40. QUESTION:
what nice hairstyles can i do while the curls in my hair are growing out?
im getting sick of everyday having to put my hair into a ponytail and having a crazy puffy fringe no matter how much i straighten it. i recently had it cut to about shoulder length but i still have about two, three inches of straight hair. im 13 and i need hairstyles that are good for school but look cool too.
thanks :) but i forgot to say that i had my hair relaxed for a couple of years and ive decided to let it grow out and when i say curly i mean like not an afro but very tight small curls

    • ANSWER:
I would suggest washing your hair before you go to bed… towel dry… comb through, part hair and seperate the two sections…then tightly braid 3-4 sections on each side. Sleep in braids, take them down in the morning- All set. This gives you a nice wave, not a crimp! The fewer braids you do the bigger the waves.

  41. QUESTION:
Questions about boys long hair, hairstyles, and dreadlocks?
*Note: This question is rather long. I’m not usually one for long questions, but there’s kinda 4 parts to it. I’d really like it if you would take the time to read all 4 parts especially if you know a lot about hair, hairstyles, or dreadlocks. Thanks!*
Okay well just a quick description of my hair: I’m a guy with brown, curly hair. It’s not too curly, but curly enough that some days it gets small ringlets on the sides but other days it might just be wavy depending on the weather. It’s down a little bit past the back of my neck when dry and all curled up and when it’s wet it goes a few inches past the bottom of my neck. My bangs are down to the top of my lips when dry and to the bottom of my face (chin area) when wet. I am still recovering from a very short haircut and want to have long hair so cutting it to take off length really isn’t an option for me at this point. I have a few questions today, so please answer as many as you can.
Question 1: My hair is very bulky and has a lot of weight on it in the middle on the sides and I would like to thin it so it can look even all over. The only problem is I’m scared to thin it. I’ve had so many bad haircuts and I really don’t want that to happen again. Will thinning it take off ANY length at all? Or just take off some of the weight on the sides of my head? What will it look like after it gets thinned? Can someone please post some before and after pictures? I would really like to thin it and I think that can help with a lot of the problems I have but I am worried as to what it will be like afterward.
Question 2: When ever I part my bangs down the middle of my head they curl inward and get in the way of my eyes and tickle my face. I can never seem to get them to curl outwards so what I’ve been having to do it push them backward onto my head so they will hopefully not curl into my face, but even sometimes that doesn’t work. I’ve tried a lot of different gels and hair products including moose, 2 different types of straightening products (only applied to my bangs), and general hair gel. None of them seem to entirely work and if they do, my bangs are usually very puffy. I need a quick way to make them not curl in my face that I can do within 5 minutes before school. I don’t have much time in the morning and straightening them isn’t an option. I’ve tried blow-drying them too but that doesn’t seem to work much either. I’m guessing that when they grow out they will curl inward lower and will eventually turn into a big spiral curl but that’s going to be a very long time. I’ve already had this problem for many months. Any ideas?
Question 3: If thinning my hair and trying to fix the bangs doesn’t work very well, I might want a hair style change. I don’t want to have a completely different style, but maybe partially dreading my hair? Like just picking 5 or 6 random sections of my hair to lock and leave the rest curly like it is now? Will that look weird? Are there any pictures people can post of someone who has done that? Will the rest of the hair grow faster than the dreads because the dreads are normally shorter then the rest of the hair because they are all rolled/knotted up? Or will the hair all stay the same length for the most part? I’ve read up on how to dreadlock hair and I know how much work it is. I don’t want a high-maintenance hairstyle so having a full head of dreads may not be for me, but how much work would it be for just a few? Would having a few be even more work than a full head of them?
*Sorry for a lot of different questions in Question 3, but I’d appreciate it if they could all be answered :)*
Question 4: Are there any other hairstyles sort of like dreadlocks of the same nature? Like not a clone of dreadlocks or anything, but something that is semi-permanent that you only get done once but don’t have to maintain much? And I mean a free-flowing hairstyle, now something that is braided/tied to your head somehow.

    Thank you in advance!

  42. QUESTION:
Hairdressers, help! – Styling, Growing out hair..?
I want to grow out my hair, and have long bangs to cover my forehead.. quite like Zac Efron’s hairstyle. My hair is currently 1-2 inches long, and is 1/3 covering my forehead. I’m just wondering.. do I need to get it styled like Zac Efron’s and THEN grow it out, or just grow it long and then get it styled? I got my hair cut last around 2 months ago, I asked the hairdresser for a trim, like a very short trim just to cut out the split ends, and she just cut it short, so I am kinda worried if I have to get it styled first it will take me even longer to grow out.

How to grow my hair out the right way?
Okay i started growing my hair out this summer.. It’s not that long yet but I kinda wanna make it look like this..http://www.menshairstylesonline.com/Hair/Medium-Length-Mens-Hairstyles/tom-welling-wedgecut.JPG do I go and get trims or jus let it grow out?

    • ANSWER:
Actually, when growing hair out to any style, you need occasional trims to shape the hair (a lot less often than when maintaining the length). Make sure you tell the stylist what you are trying to do so he/she doesn’t take too much off in the wrong places. Also make sure to choose a very skilled stylist.
      Good luck!

  45. QUESTION:
How to style short buzzed hair in growing stage?
Hello everyone. Well I recently had my whole head buzzed to clipper number 3 two weeks ago. Now that its growing back, its looking more and more like an afro-it seems my hair grows straight out, not down! Im a caucasian male by the way. I think thats the last time I’m going to just shave my entire head, I have an odd shaped head and now it seems that even when washed and dried it looks bad, its just uneven because my head is uneven and looks…well, bad. So for you hairstylists out there…

1.) What should I do with my hair while its growing out of the buzz look stage? I cant stand just washing it and drying it and dealing with how it looks. How can I make it look more even or even give it some style, without looking “flashy” I guess.

2.) When my hair becomes a reasonable length (anyone know how long it takes to grow hair), what kind of hairstyle can I go with that is clean and professional, yet not high maintenance or too short?

3.) When I go for my next haircut (trim, im assuming), what do I tell the stylist? It won’t be ready for a true style yet but Im sure it will need to be trimmed since by whole head is at the same length right now and when it grows it will look like a big hot ball of mess lol. Advice?? Pictures of hairstyles you guys like!! Anything!

    • ANSWER:
A butch fully suits relatively few guys. A good barber can design one of the short pomp(pompadour) styles-crew cut, ivy league(long crew cut), flat top crew cut- to fully suit almost any young guy’s head shape, face and neck shape, frontal hairline and facial features. The way to grow out a butch is to go for a slightly longer short haircut every three weeks. For a guy whose hair grows at the average rate of 1/8″ per week and starting with a butch: short crew cut, medium crew cut; short ivy league; ivy league; long ivy league; short regular taper cut; regular taper cut. By a regular taper cut, the hair on top will be about three inches long and the hair can begin to grow over the ears and collar if desired, switching to haircuts every six to nine weeks to add shape and even up new growth. A control wax will keep the hair looking well groomed while at crew cut and ivy league length. Try krew comb, the one in the jar. One of the small, flat, oval, plastic pocket brushes that one finger fits through and barbers sell for about a dollar, also known as a butch comb also helps….

      http://i54.tinypic.com/28ja9nq.jpg

…a regular comb is not much use with a crew cut. Barber supply houses sell these items so do and all sally beauty supply shops which are located everywhere.

      http://i51.tinypic.com/zlvwo2.jpg

Some barbers describe an ivy league as a crew cut just long enough to be parted and combed to the side, if so desired. An ivy league can also be worn with the hair brushed up off the forehead to form a short pomp front, or with the short bangs brushed down on the forehead like a forward brush cut.
