Facial Hair Growing Tips

Beards, Moustaches and Goatee’s are just some of the examples of facial hair styles. Facial hair is a defining sex characteristic and is more evident in males after puberty. The growth of facial hair depends on many things, like testosterone levels, genetics and race. As boys, it’s after we reach puberty that we notice the increased growth of our facial hair. This is a result of the spike in testosterone levels in the body. But a common problem for a percentage of the male population is that even during this period they are unable to grow facial hair. If you happen to be one of those unfortunate few, don’t worry, this article is for you!

There are many proven ways to help grow facial hair. But first you must identify whether is a clinical problem such as a testosterone deficiency or if its genetics. This is because some ethnicities have normal levels of testosterone but are unable to grow facial hair because of genetic issues. Sometimes time can be the answer because some people are ‘late-bloomers’. If you think that’s not the case, regular shaving could help as well. Continuous shaving can do the trick because that makes the hair coarser and hence more visible. Note that repeated shaving makes the hair thicker, not grow faster.

If that doesn’t work you can try increasing the protein in your diet. Hair is made of keratin which is a protein. Hence, increasing the protein content in your diet could help grow facial hair faster. The next alternative is testosterone booster injections which have to be prescribed by a doctor, but it should be avoided except for medical resons. The negative of that is it can cause a hormonal imbalance in the body which can lead to other ailments. You can also resort to physical exercise, to help grow facial hair faster. This way, the body will produce its own excess testosterone. It’s slower but much healthier than testosterone boosters.

Another method to grow facial hair faster is by using an electric razor to shave. This usually makes the hair very coarse in a short amount of time. As long as it’s not a genetic issue, there is always an easy way to help grow facial hair. But it is advisable that you consult a doctor before taking any drastic measures. There are other methods that boast they can help you grow facial hair but even then it’s better to get, medical advice on using them.

    Tips on growing facial hair?
Just turned 19 and Im a little dissapointed I haven’t shown any signs on growing alot of facial hair. I can grow a bit of a moustache, chin/in the middle of the throat leading up to the chin facial hair. but barley any hair on the sides of my face, is there any tips on growing facial hair faster?

Are there any tips to growing facial hair longer?
I’ve tried all my life (I’m 19 now) to grow long facial hair, but it seems it reaches a point and stops growing. My facial hair grows back (when I shave it) usually the next day and within a week, or two I can have my full facial hair back, so growing it is not the problem. The problem is once about two weeks pass it stops growing and I can wait a year without shaving and it still won’t grow any longer. My sideburns and mustache facial hair are both thin and my beard is much shorter than I would like it and I really can’t understand why. I come from a pretty hairy family. I’m hairy pretty much all over my body, yet when it comes to facial hair I can’t grow it the way I want to. There has to be some trick, or product that can make my facial hair grow longer and don’t say shave because I already know that’s not true (besides I’ve shaved many times before and that hasn’t helped).

    can i do daily masturbation?
    doesit have any side effects?

    • ANSWER:
For facial hairs wait for some more time .
You can do as you wish. Pl. know more about masturbation which will help you.

Masturbation is the stimulation of the sexual organs usually by a person himself, to obtain an orgasm. Though masturbation can be done by partners on one another, the term is more commonly used when sexual satisfaction is provided by self. Most people use their hands to masturbate, but instruments like vibrators and dildoes may also be used. These imitate the movements of the hand and provide sexual pleasure.

Masturbation is a way of releasing pent up sexual energy. Most people start masturbating at the time of puberty. With changes in an individual’s hormonal profile during puberty, there is a surge of sexual energy which can be released with the help of masturbation. Masturbation is reported more in males than in females. More than a physiological difference in libido, this may be due to sociological taboos on females. Females also tend to discontinue or reduce masturbation when they form sexual relationships.

The masturbation is harmful .This is the biggest myth surrounding masturbation. If indulged in moderation, masturbation, on the contrary, is a healthy practice that releases sexual energy. According to certain religious practices and beliefs, masturbation is harmful since it results in the loss of a man’s “seeds” and makes him weak. Masturbation in women has largely been ignored in the religious texts. Other myths surrounding the act are that it reduces virility by making the semen less thick thereby reducing the chances of a man to bear children. This is totally untrue. Masturbation does not cause any loss of strength or virility in a person.

The other myths surrounding masturbation are

Only males masturbate – this is not true. Females masturbate as much as males do. However, they tend to report it less than males due to the social stigma attached to it. Also it has been observed that females tend to reduce or discontinue masturbation once they get into meaningful sexual relationships.

Masturbation is unhealthy – masturbation per se does not cause any health hazards. It is not an unhealthy habit. However, it may be mentally unhealthy if it assumes obsessive proportions and the individual is unable to think of anything else. It may also have physical repercussions if the instrument used to masturbate is dirty or infected.

Only adolescents masturbate – though the practice usually begins during adolescence, almost all adults practise it at some time or the other.

Masturbation does not provide as much satisfaction as sexual intercourse – sometimes masturbation is more satisfying than the sex act. This is because, during masturbation, an individual is in control of his own movements and can maximize the pleasure according to his or her needs. During sexual intercourse, the degree of satisfaction may, to some extent, lie with the partner.

People masturbate only if they have unfulfilling sexual relationships – people also masturbate for self satisfaction, even when they have fully satisfying sexual relationships.

One can stop masturbating if one wants to. Just as one can live without indulging in sex, one can also stop masturbating with some will power. However, since the activity has nothing to be ashamed of and most people do it, there is no scientific reason to discontinue it. If one still wishes to discontinue, then the sexual energy may need to be channelised into alternative physical activities.

Any tips on how to maintain facial hair? (Guys, of course)?
I am a 21 y/o guy, fairly good-looking, but I look really young. Most would guess I am about 16-18, perhaps even younger.

Friends have advised me that letting my facial hair grow out – stubble – would make me look more my age. I’ve done so and I agree, but I don’t see how to do this without eventually having to shave after a week or two.

Any guys out there in the same position who have any tips on how to maintain facial hair? It ends up growing out to the point I just gotta shave, but then I look 14 again. Is there some strategy, some way to avoid having to shave so often or perhaps make your stubble grow less fast?

need some tips on how to make my facial hair grow faster?
    any tips or thoughts

    • ANSWER:
There is no way to make your hair grow faster with shampoos, conditioners or shaving. Shaving does not make your hair grow faster or thicker. The length of the growth cycle and diameter of each strand stays the same. If you’re really desperate for longer hair in general, you could try pre-natal vitamins. These give you a mega dose of nutrients and the excess is excreted in your waste. That’s the only bet. I wouldn’t recommend putting chemicals on your face such as the hair growth stuff that’s marketed for people’s heads. Good luck.

    Growing Facial Hair Faster?
Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to grow facial hair faster?

    • ANSWER:
Shaving wont make it grow faster, it will only make it come back thicker because you cut it at a thick point when you shave, take zinc and magnesium before you go to bed, dont eat anything within 2 hours of taking it! It will boost your growth hormone production and it works synergysically with your testosterone! Oh and make sure you dont take any calcium with it, calcium grabs onto them and they wont be able to work.

I’m 21, and my facial hair grows at a less than average pace. Right now I want to grow hair for a goatee (on the chin) – but it seems that’s where it grows the slowest.

Do I want to shave more often, or let it grow for a few weeks? – Any tips and tricks appreciated

    • ANSWER:
The rate and pattern of hair growth anywhere on the body is controlled by inherited DNA. Shaving or trimming the hair has no effect on the rate of growth of the hair. If you are asking this question, it is probably a bad idea to attempt to grow any facial hair. It usually makes a guy’s young age obvious when he tries to grow a beard before his facial hair is developed enough to do so.
      Good Luck!

Pubic hair and facial hair, specifically. I’m just asking because I’m 13 and recently started shaving, and while I was looking for tips (after cutting myself) I found some older posts saying things like”I’m sixteen and just had some facial hair grow in . . .” or “I’m fifteen, just got my pubic hair about a month ago, how can I shave it off . . .” and was a little concerned for my health and that of our planet (what with us pumping our cows and fruit full of hormones). I wanted to know if kids today are growing hair sooner than before.

    • ANSWER:
We mature at different ages. Some man begin to get hair on their body as early as 9 or 10, and some don’t any more growth than peach fuzz until they are 16 or 17.

Men also mature sexually at different ages. Some men develop(get larger) early, and some very unfortunate young men develop very late. When I was in high school(the guys showered together), one of my friends had a tiny penis and his testicles hardly dropped. This particular guy didn’t have any body hair to speak of, either.

Is it true that if I shave for the very first time that more facial hair will grow back faster?
Hey guys. I am 16 years old and want to grow a thin beard. I have what some of you might call peach fuzz. Is it true that if I shave for the very first time that more facial hair will grow back twice as fast? Tips are appreciated. Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
Will shaving my face make my beard grow in thicker or faster?
No, shaving will not make your facial hair grow in any thicker or faster, though it may feel that way.

There are a couple of reasons why your hair might feel like it is growing in thicker after shaving. First, hair tends to be thicker and darker near the root and becomes thinner/wispier near the end of the hair as it grows out. When you shave a hair, you are cutting it close to the thicker root end, creating a much shorter hair with a sharper edge close to the skin’s surface. This leaves a stiffer “stubble” effect when you rub your face in the day or two following your shave. Once the hair grows out, it will begin to feel softer again.

There are a lot of people who swear that shaving their hair causes it to grow in thicker, darker, and faster. However, if this were true, wouldn’t every man, woman, or boy who shaved his or her face be able to grow a full beard? Many men shave each day precisely because their facial hair is patchy and they cannot grow a full beard! If the myth about shaving causing beard growth were true, all people who shave their faces regularly would soon develop full beards, and that is simply not the case.

Im 19 and having trouble growing facial hair. Please help.?
okay, so i know this has been posted time in & time out but im getting desperate. im 19 years old and cant seem to grow a beard. oddly enough, i seem to grown a viscous field of hairs on my neck but not much of anything on my face.

it started off as sort of a joke to me, but now its really starting to get under my skin. i know a lot of hair grown has to do with genetics but there has to be something i can do to start growing at least a semi respectable beard.

please don’t bother with patronizing b.s. about how i should be glad that i don’t have to shave, and such.

any tips , suggestions are welcome. thanks in advance.

Sometimes it just takes time you are not done growing yet so hormones are a factor. Some guys just have patchy beards, look at Keanu Reeves.

    • ANSWER:
It depends a lot on your genetic makeup and the fact your body is still going through many changes. The older you get, the longer and thicker it will be. In the coming months and years you will see constant improvement to your facial hair. It will look better all the time.
Shaving the hair, despite what the people on Answers are telling you, will not make it grow any faster or thicker. It takes time!
Go to beards.org. This site is awesome. It is loaded with info on facial hair.

    facial hair…?
so i have really bad facial hair on my upper lip and shaved it once a long time ago (i know, bad idea!) anyway, for the past five years or so, i’ve been bleaching it and waxing it…and i’m getting pretty tired of it!!! just wondering, does facial hair on a girl stop growing after a certain point? like your eyebrows…they don’t keep growing and growing..well, is that the same with hair on your upper lip even if you’ve shaved it before? i know when i wax my eyebrows, they only grow back to the same length…same for facial hair on upper lip?? any tips for keeping it away??

    • ANSWER:
you can splurge and get laser done to it. i know it may seem expensive but if you think about it, you are just going to spend just as much money on waxes and bleeches in your life.

Looking for tips on Facial Hair.?
Well, I’m 17. I started shaving around 4 months ago (kinda never got around to starting before then) with an electric razor. Since then, I had been frustrated about lack of closeness of my cut. It was also really slow in growing, and a mix of peach-fuzz and super long hairs.

A few weeks ago, I switched to blade razors, and 2 days after I switched, my beard was coming in thicker, stiffer, and faster.
It takes 1 day of growth (only shave in mornings) for me to be able to feel it, and 2 or 3 days for me to see it in a mirror.
I tend to feel my whiskers a lot, and massage my chin and cheeks in the process. I suppose this boosts growth as well.

    That is all well and good, and I am glad that I got it to grow closer to a normal rate, but I have some problems;

    1) I have red hair, which in the past has changed through varying shades of blonde. My eyebrows are brown. My arm and leg hair is a slight blonde. My underarm and pubic hair is a dark red.
But my facial hair is perfectly flesh-toned. And I was hoping for something more visible. Dye is out of the question. Should I just let it mature more? Let it grow out?

    2) I have sideburns that grow down to my neck under my chin. But my chin hair itself refuses to grow thicker. I have some chin hair, but it is spaced like my arm hair and not packed. And I really need thick chin hair, because I want to grow a chin goatee. The hair on my scalp is very thick, and has earned comments whenever I go out to get it cut. So I expect similar thickness from my beard.

I have acne problems, and the stuff I am using contains alcohol and antibacterial. So aftershave is unneeded/unusable. I am using disposable pivoting razors, with a lube strip (never really liked the idea of shaving cream).

So any tips on how to get my hair to come out fuller on my chin would be appreciated. Because after it starts coming out on my chin, I can grow my goatee and see where the color develops from there.

    • ANSWER:
I know you believe the blade made it grow faster, thicker, but it didn’t. This is a common misperception due to the way a blade cuts the hairs. It appears to you differently due to the way light reflects on the facial hairs.

Anyway, that is neither here nor there…to answer your questions:

      1. At 17 your facial hair is still developing. You have a mixture of vellus and terminal hairs, which is why some appear flesh toned (those are vellus). They’ll eventually turn to terminal, but who knows when.
You can try letting it grow out if you want, but don’t expect it to look like a fully mature adult beard yet.

      2. Your goatee is simply not ready to emerge yet. Everyone’s facial hair pattern and maturity rates are different. Some get their goatee first, others much later. In time it will probably be nice and thick.

Shaving can cause your acne to get worse. Not shaving often clears it up, but of course, you’ll have to live with the scruff on your face.

Come to the beard board for more advice.

Any other women out there who have facial hair issues and shave? Any tips or hints on products or methods?
Unfortunately, I inherited a lot of traits from my dad and have always had an issue with dark facial hair. Facial hair removers and bleaches werent working for me, were getting pretty expensive and were causing major irritation, so several years ago, after hearing about some other ladies who shaved their facial hair and listening to a doctor on Oprah say that shaving female facial hair was preferable, healthwise, to creams and bleaches, I broke down and began shaving. Now, fast forward a few years…my hair grows dark, thick and course, like a man’s and sometimes its hard to keep up…I develop “5o’clock shadow” and I can never just get up and go…without worrying about my “beard” being noticed. I live with my boyfriend and I dont think he has any idea that I shave. Neither did my ex-husband. At least they have never insinuated anything to make me think they might. It’s very embarrasing and a constant concern in the back of my mind. I wouldn’t want to be a male who’s woman shaved. Any tips or suggestions on how to deal with this? Or, even some encouraging words from any other women who are going through the same thing?

    • ANSWER:
Lmao well, I probably don’t have it as thick becuase I don’t have a 5 o clock shadow, but keep in mind a lot of women have facial hair (and just don’t talk about it), especially if they are of certain other races (Greek, Jewish, ect). Do not shave it, it will grow in thicker. Use something that rips it from the root.

      I personally use this

It works very well, for me.
Also, it comes with cream that you put on after you use it to stunt hair growth. And while it doesn’t work as well as the advertisements say, it does work pretty well (its just not magical the way they act like it is)

If your hair is super thick it’ll work less efficiently but trust me, it’ll still work. Just make sure you use it regularly the way the instructions say. You can use it on your legs and other places too. Its not that expensive, its definitely worth the buy.

Shaving your hair makes it grow in thicker, and it isn’t a myth like people say. The reason is, your normal hair has a thin tip, but after you shave it, the thick middle part becomes the tip, making your hair look fuller.

Waxing can work if you don’t wanna buy that product, though I don’t think it works as well as it doesn’t have growth stunting cream and doesn’t always pick it from the root.

Hope this helps! And hope you don’t mind the long reply, I figured the more info the better XD

how can i make my facial hair grow slower?
i hate how ofter i have to shave. is there a way of stalling i? shuld i get a closer shave> any other tips?

    • ANSWER:
i think they have some shaving creams that you put on (your legs) and it prevents the growth a little bit… I am guessing you are a really fast grower… what girls do is wax their hairs so they dont grow back for a really long time since it pulls it out from the root. I dont know if this would be too painful for you or if thats even normal for guys. sorry if im not making sense. i have no idea lol

    • ANSWER:
Visualize your face with a goatee and think about possible shapes and length.

Tell yourself over & over “I am growing my facial hair… my facial hair is stimulated to grow… ” and so on.

Peruse magazines and websites for pictures of goatee variations that you might want to experiment with. Decide whether you want just a goatee (a beard limited to the area below the mouth), a Van Dyke beard (a goatee combined with but not connected to a mustache)or a circle beard (a goatee connected to a mustache).

Enjoy. You will have a full goatee in no time.

Does anyone know any method to help out the growth of facial hair?
(I know I’m not in the right section but it’s were I feel the most comfortable) Anywho, can anyone please give me any tips on how to grow a little facial hair naturally…I’m a FTM trans and I can’t start hormonal treatment any time soon, So, is their any lotion, oil, ointment, or anything I can apply? I’ve tried shaving I know that doesn’t help but it makes it seem as it does. So please any tips that would be great.

    • ANSWER:
Dude even on T it takes time and genetics to get a growth that is worthy of keeping.

Shaving helps eliminate the little blond hairs on your face, which women have (from lack of shaving) and men do not (because they shave). It’s a subconscious thing for people to think your face looks more masculine or feminine based on facial hair.
